  • At the Department of Experimental Physics, he developed methods of electron microscopy and microanalysis. Gradually he moved his professional interest to the field of Biophysics, which brought him to the Institute of Medical Biophysics at the Faculty of Medicine, UP in 1994. Here he worked with colleagues on photodynamic therapy of cancer. After returning to the Faculty of Science in 2000, he took part in specialized activities in the field of digital image processing, especially in connection with microscopic methods, and participated in the introduction of microscopic methods using the scanning probe, for which he edited expert texts and a monograph.

    In addition to professional publishing activities, which have 30 outputs with h-index 4 on WOS, he has been focusing especially on didactics of Physics at the Department of Experimental Physics. He is a co-author of a number of elementary and secondary grammar school Physics textbooks by Prodos publishing house, and Physics manuals for high school students, particularly with a focus on cross-curricular links and the integration of knowledge in Physics. In his interest in promoting Physics he has not omitted pupils at the first grade of elementary schools for whom he has written a book of science fairy tales.

    In addition to several scientific projects, he was the principal investigator of projects focusing on innovation in Physics teaching at the Faculty of Science and University project "Palacký University - Science Center for All".

  • He studied Fine Mechanics and Optics at the Faculty of Science, Palacký University in Olomouc. In 1998 he was habilitated in the field of Applied Physics at the Faculty of Science, UP.
